Do we have any Olympic’s fans in the house?? I love watching the athletes who have dedicated their lives to becoming the best in their field compete to become the champion. I especially love hearing their success stories – how they pushed through the challenges to ultimately get to where they are. They are so motivational!! We love the competition and the spirit of the Olympics so we figured it was time to put together a Spring Olympics date so that we can enjoy the Olympics right now!! My hubby loves getting out and doing active things, so this date is perfect for this time of year!!

The Spring Olympics are designed for all the couples out there that love to engage in a little friendly competition. It can easily be a group date or just a competition between the two of you! It can be done at home or you can head out and make a day of it at the park or recreation center. If you are hosting a couple’s group date, you’ll want to send out the invitations early and let everyone contribute towards a Champion’s Breakfast bar. We’re definitely planning on hosting a group Olympics in the future, but this time around we decided to enjoy the Spring Olympics as a couple.

I loved the idea of making this date a little bit different than most dates. So this date starts in the morning. That’s right, you can’t compete in the Spring Olympics on an empty stomach!! Who’s ready for a Champion’s Breakfast?

We’ve put together an adorable menu with a few fun Olympic trivia just to get that brain warmed up a bit.

Breakfast might have been my favorite part of this date!! I love making a delicious breakfast and sitting down and enjoying it with my spouse since most days our mornings are crazy and we don’t even have time to sit down and eat!!

After breakfast, it’s time to compete for the GOLD. We have 12 event cards to choose from. For our date, we decided to just choose 3 of our favorite events to compete in as a couple. The thing I love about this date is that you could make it as real or intense as you want!! We’ve collected 12 awesome events, you get to choose how to execute them.

For example, if you were to choose to do cycling, rowing, and swimming, you could go out and put together 3 real competitions… of course, you would have to own or rent bikes, live near a lake with a canoe and a decent swimming pool to make this set of Olympic challenges come to life. This would take most of a day and would definitely make for some awesome memories. Other combinations of activities won’t take as long. This date is totally what you make it! If you want to just recreate these Olympic events in your own way at home, that’s easy to do, too! For rowing, use a skateboard and 2 plungers to propel you from point A to point B.

For the equestrian challenge, grab a play horse and create an obstacle course to get through! Whoever makes it through in the fastest time, wins!! We’ve put together a simple idea card for how to recreate all of the events in a fun way at home! That way if you aren’t lucky enough to live near a lake with a basketball court and a trampoline center, you can still pull off your own Olympics!! 🙂 Once all the fun and games are over, award the winners with their prizes.

Just attach the cute printable labels to your jar, add some glitter to really make those awards shine and voila!! You have the perfect Spring Olympics awards… even better than a medal!

Don’t forget to grab these fun printables {designed by Messes to Memories} below to host your own Spring Olympics!!
